Neste has expanded its use of Seaber’s AI-assisted scheduling platform to cover all of its European shipping activities, following a successful rollout in Finland that began in 2021.
The system, developed by Finnish software company Seaber, is used to improve vessel scheduling, port call efficiency and fleet utilisation. Neste reports that it has seen a 4% improvement in both bunker and port-related costs and associated CO₂ output from its previous implementation.
The software also allows for scenario planning and optimisation across chartering and scheduling operations. Neste says that it plans to create a global virtual position list by integrating scheduling data across its shipping network, enabling improved decision-making and a clearer overview of fleet deployment.
