Noble Corporation and Kongsberg in tech development deal

Offshore drilling contractor Noble Corporation has signed a Development Program Framework Agreement with Kongsberg Maritime to jointly develop and commercialise new marine technologies for offshore operations.

The agreement marks will focus on innovation in operational efficiency, risk management, and sustainability. The first pilot project under the deal is expected to launch later this year on the drillship Noble Sam Croft, currently operating in the Gulf of Mexico.

Kongsberg Maritime says the collaboration will combine its marine technology expertise with Noble’s operational experience and fleet of 21 drilling units to fast-track development of user-focused technologies for the offshore sector.

“This agreement with Noble underscores our commitment to being a trusted energy transition partner,” said Jouni Raatikainen, Executive Vice President Global Customer Support at Kongsberg Maritime.

“By working closely with forward-thinking companies like Noble, we can co-create technologies that not only improve performance and safety but also support the industry’s broader sustainability goals. Noble’s progressive approach and openness to innovation make them an ideal partner for this ambitious journey.”
