MarinePALS launches new e-learning resources to tackle container cargo claims

MarinePALS has released a series of e-learning videos aimed at reducing preventable container cargo claims, which it says cost the industry millions of dollars each year.

MarinePALS develops microlearning videos, gaming apps, VR training and online mentoring for the maritime sector.

The five new microlearning modules focus on three high-risk areas – refrigerated container cargo, containers lost overboard, and incidents involving dangerous goods – which together account for the majority of cargo-related claims on container ships.

Capt Girish Munjal, Chief Visualiser and Content Director at MarinePALS, said the videos are designed to bridge the gap between regulations and practice. “Regulations and procedures exist, but they are only effective if seafarers fully understand and apply them, especially under operational pressure,” he said.

The series includes two videos on IMDG cargo, two on preventing container loss overboard, and one on refrigerated container cargo.

Each draws on real incident lessons, P&I circulars, company procedures and regulatory requirements, delivered in short formats designed for onboard training.
