Hudong-Zhonghua LNG carriers to deploy sloshing risk monitoring system

Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding has signed a contract with Ascenz Marorka to equip 24 LNG carriers with its Sloshield system, the companies report.

Developed jointly by Ascenz Marorka and parent company GTT, Sloshield provides real-time monitoring and predictive analysis to detect and reduce sloshing risks in LNG cargo tanks. The technology aims to support cargo integrity, limit structural stress, and improve operational safety.

The deal builds on GTT’s existing partnership with Hudong-Zhonghua, combining the group’s containment system expertise with tools developed within its dedicated digital division.

“We are proud to support Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding in its commitments to deliver modern LNG carriers meeting the highest standards of safety, reliability and performance,” said Anouar Kiassi, Chief Executive Officer of Ascenz Marorka.

“This contract represents a key milestone in the recognition of Sloshield as a trusted solution to mitigate sloshing risks and optimise LNG cargo operations.”

Ascenz Marorka operates as part of GTT’s digital division alongside Danelec and Vessel Performance Solutions.
