Intellian adds two Iridium Certus GMDSS units

Intellian Technologies has launched two new Iridium Certus Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) terminals.

The new C200M and C700M systems were developed in partnership with Iridium and combine safety and operational communications within a single L-band terminal.

The C200M GMDSS System includes an antenna, Below Deck Unit and Safety Display Terminal (SDT), with access to distress alerts, safety voice, and Maritime Safety Information transmission.

The forthcoming C700 GMDSS will be the only system designed for the Iridium Certus 700 service, offering GMDSS, LRIT, SSAS, and data connectivity through one unit.

“With over twenty years as a trusted name in maritime communications, we understand the unique challenges and critical need for reliable, truly global safety at sea services,” said Eric Sung, CEO of Intellian Technologies.

“These two new solutions reflect that deep market knowledge, combining our expertise with the power of Iridium Certus GMDSS to deliver safety systems that the maritime community can trust.”

Intellian said the systems also support non-GMDSS data and voice services, expecting them to be deployed alongside existing VSAT or flat panel installations to provide redundancy.

The company plans to expand its GMDSS portfolio with a C100M system and additional MF/HF and VHF radios in the coming months.
