Singapore and the Republic of Korea (ROK) report that the two nations have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish the Singapore-ROK Green and Digital Shipping Corridor.
Under the MOU, the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore and the Korean Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries will work together to develop bunkering infrastructure, align on technical standards, share knowledge, conduct joint trials, and provide training for maritime stakeholders.
The partners will also seek to accelerate digitalisation to enhance data exchange and operational efficiency.
“The Republic of Korea and Singapore are key maritime partners in Asia, and together we will lead efforts to achieve international shipping decarbonisation,” said Chun Jae Soo, Korean Minister of Oceans and Fisheries.
“Through this cooperation, both countries will promote the adoption of green fuels and digital solutions, contributing to the sustainable growth of the global maritime sector.”
