Vodafone IoT and Iridium partner on global IoT coverage

Vodafone IoT has partnered with Iridium Communications to integrate Iridium’s NTN Direct service, extending NB-IoT connectivity to remote and maritime environments worldwide.

The partnership will allow Vodafone IoT customers to access Iridium’s 3GPP standards-based direct-to-device service for global NB-IoT connectivity, providing data messaging, asset tracking and real-time monitoring.

Commercial launch is planned for 2026 following integration and testing of Iridium NTN Direct across Vodafone IoT’s network.

“By using direct-to-device satellite connectivity, new and existing customers will benefit from truly global coverage – meaning they can reliably connect their devices in corners of the world where they can’t today,” said Erik Brenneis, CEO of Vodafone IoT.
