Korean Register (KR) reports that it has launched two new digital systems, PILOT and POWER, to help shipowners develop emission-reduction strategies and improve operational efficiency.
PILOT (Platform for Insightful LOw-emission Transitions) enables users to model customised greenhouse gas reduction scenarios using vessel-specific technical and operational data.
It automatically calculates emissions, compliance costs, and the cost-effectiveness of energy-saving technologies and alternative fuels, to assist in the planning of long-term decarbonisation strategies.
POWER (Performance evaluation for Operational characteristics, Weather & aging Effect and fuel consumption Review) provides visual analysis of ship performance using AIS, weather, and ocean condition data.

Both systems are available through KR’s digital service platform, KR-DAON.
