Tankerska Plovidba reports that it has deployed Marlink’s Sealink NextGen hybrid network across a fleet of 22 tankers and bulk carriers. The upgrade will support the company’s move towards more digitalised vessel operations and provide improved connectivity for crews.
The set-up will see Starlink integrated with VSAT services using the Marlink XChange platform, creating a combined network to support business applications and vessel monitoring while also providing secure crew access to online services. A Unified Threat Management system will also be deployed as part of the rollout.
The 22 vessels covered by the agreement are operated by Tankerska Plovidba and Atlantska Plovidba, with Tankerska Plovidba having become the controlling shareholder of Atlantska Plovidba in 2024, bringing together tanker and bulker operations under a single management structure.
The upgrade is expected to support tasks such as remote maintenance, operational reporting and environmental monitoring, while also strengthening the company’s cyber security framework. The UTM service provides application control, intrusion protection, antivirus functions and web filtering as part of a consolidated approach to cyber risk management.
