Busan New Port to deploy AI-based safety monitoring

Busan New Port Terminal 5, operated by BNCT, has agreed to deploy an AI-based safety monitoring and control system from CyberLogitec with the aim of reducing collision risks between mobile equipment and personnel.

The system is designed to monitor operational risks in real time and enable early intervention before incidents occur. BNCT said the project is part of a shift away from incident-driven safety practices toward proactive risk management.

CyberLogitec’s platform combines AI-powered video analytics, RTK (Real-Time Kinematic)-based high-precision positioning and digital twin technology to provide real-time situational awareness across the terminal. Data from equipment, workers and traffic flows at Busan New Port will all be integrated into a single monitoring environment.

The deployment includes RTK tracking devices on 70 mobile assets and 28 AI-enabled CCTV cameras installed on 14 ship-to-shore cranes. Hazard warnings will be delivered automatically to operators through vehicle-mounted terminals.

Full operation is scheduled for August 2026.
