Maqta Technologies, the digital arm of AD Ports Group, and BigBear.ai have signed a partnership agreement to research, design, and deploy new digital trade and customs systems.
Maqta Technologies provides a range of port community systems and national single window platforms, to which BigBear.ai will add its expertise in Artificial Intelligence (AI), including automated image analysis for customs inspections and integrated risk management tools.
“Our partnership with BigBear.ai represents a significant step in advancing our AI-driven digital trade and customs solutions,” said Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, managing director and group CEO of AD Ports Group.
“By combining Maqta Technologies’ deep expertise in trade facilitation, port community systems, and customs ecosystems with BigBear.ai’s advanced capabilities in AI and customs, we would be well positioned to deliver next-generation platforms that enhance efficiency, transparency, and risk management across global trade and logistics networks.”
The companies intend to pursue commercial opportunities with external customs authorities and port operators beyond their home markets. This follows the opening of BigBear.ai’s first regional office in Abu Dhabi in December 2025 and recent agreements by Maqta Technologies to export digital infrastructure to Pakistan and parts of Europe.
AD Ports Group currently operates 10 ports and terminals in the United Arab Emirates and has expanded its international footprint to include operations in Africa, Central Asia, and Europe.
