Inmarsat Maritime will provide NexusWave connectivity for Auerbach’s fleet of newbuild heavy lift vessels, with the Hamburg-based shipping company implementing the technology as part of a fleet renewal programme focused on a new generation of high-efficiency multipurpose ships.
The new ECO multipurpose vessels are currently being delivered by the Taizhou Sanfu Shipyard in China and are designed to meet evolving environmental regulations and deliver improved fuel efficiency and cargo handling.
The NexusWave roll-out is intended to support data-intensive processes to manage vessel performance and monitor compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.
