Gard and NAVTOR have agreed a deal that will see Gard Insights added to the NavStation platform, to provide loss prevention knowledge directly to maritime crews and operators by integrating safety advice and risk management guidance into the digital tools used for voyage planning and operational decision-making.
The content will be delivered through the e-Publication Reader module within NavStation, providing weekly updates on navigation, cargo, and compliance risks. By embedding this information into the existing workflow, the companies intend to make safety data more accessible and utilised more frequently during active route planning.
“This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to making safety knowledge accessible where it matters most,” said Line Dahle, Executive Vice President – Industry Impact at Gard.
“By integrating Gard’s expertise into NAVTOR’s trusted platforms, we help empower crews and decision-makers with insights that support safer operations.”
The partnership is also designed to streamline on-board digital environments by reducing the number of individual software applications required by crews. Børge Hetland, Chief Operating Officer at NAVTOR, noted that simplifying the distribution of relevant information is a key part of the company’s strategy to provide fewer, more streamlined digital platforms.
Gard currently has a gross written premium of US$1.2 billion and insures approximately 18,000 vessels. NavStation also serves more than 18,000 vessels worldwide.
