Hefring Marine and Ecomar Propulsion have announced a strategic partnership to integrate intelligent monitoring technology into electric maritime operations, a deal which will see Hefring Marine install its Intelligent Maritime Analysis System (IMAS) aboard Ecomar’s hydrogen-battery vessel, the MV Dirac.
The deployment represents the first use of the IMAS technology on an electric vessel. The system provides live monitoring of sea conditions, vessel motion, and operational parameters to assist crew safety and support decision-making for ship managers.
The MV Dirac is a dedicated test platform designed by Ecomar Propulsion to evaluate developments in electric propulsion, energy management, and ship controls.
