MOL Chemical Tankers (MOLCT) has partnered with KVH Industries to deploy KVH Link across its in-house managed fleet, a content service offering access to movies, TV series, music and news.
This will include access to Hollywood, Bollywood and Pinoy film releases, alongside television series and documentaries, as part of a crew wellbeing programme intended to improve morale during designated off-duty hours.
The content is refreshed monthly and delivered over-the-air to a linkHUB media server via onboard satcom or GSM services.
“At MOL Chemical Tankers, we believe that our seafarers are the lifeblood of our business,” said Louis Liu, Head of Infrastructure and Cyber Security at MOL Chemical Tankers.
“We were eager to offer them a genuine morale-boosting service that would help enrich their downtime while onboard, as part of our comprehensive crew wellbeing programme. KVH Link with its breadth of high-quality content, makes it ideally suited for the diversity of our global crews.”
The service will also be used as an organisational communication tool, for the distribution of corporate news, announcements, and updates directly to ship crews from the company’s offices.
“We look forward to harnessing our 70 years of experience in providing entertainment and news to MOLCT’s seafarers while also providing vital head office updates in a way that is both accessible and stimulating for everyone onboard,” said Keng Teen Phang, Regional Sales Director APAC at KVH Industries.
The rollout across the fleet is currently underway.
