Greek shipowner Stealth Maritime is expanding its use of ShipIn Systems’ FleetVision from a 12-vessel pilot to nearly its entire fleet of more than 50 tankers and gas carriers.
The AI-based visual analytics system is being used to identify safety risks onboard and provide operational data to support safety management and TMSA reviews.
Stealth introduced FleetVision to its crews during an officers’ conference, where more than 85% said they would welcome the system.
Crews use the system to review flagged events, validate detections and reinforce onboard safety standards, with PPE compliance among the first areas to improve.
The company can also use the resulting operational data during TMSA audits and oil-major vetting to provide continuous evidence of onboard safety performance.
“Our goal is to keep improving the safety culture on board, to keep a near miss from becoming an incident, an accident, or a fatality,” said Diamantis Andriotis, Chief Executive Officer of Stealth Maritime.
“What we value most is that the first to be informed is the ship, and then the office. FleetVision moves the focus of safety to where it belongs, on board, so the crew go home safe.”
Stealth has worked with ShipIn to tailor the system to its safety management processes, with new requested detection capabilities added across the fleet.
