Teledyne FLIR launches new camera for autonomous vessels

Teledyne FLIR Marine has launched the FLIR M364C-USV, a multispectral camera system designed for autonomous and uncrewed surface vessels.

The system combines thermal and visible imaging to support navigation, obstacle avoidance, surveillance, security, environmental monitoring and scientific research in daylight, darkness and low-visibility conditions.

“Autonomous and uncrewed vessels depend on reliable sensing technologies to operate safely and effectively in dynamic maritime environments,” said Michelle Hildyard, General Manager of Teledyne FLIR Marine.

“The M364C-USV delivers the real-time visibility and situational awareness operators need to make better decisions, avoid hazards and support mission success, while providing the durability required for continuous operation at sea.”

The camera features a reinforced pan-and-tilt system and can be integrated with autonomy and remote-control systems, with aligned video and telemetry data providing inputs for tracking, navigation and situational awareness.

The M364C-USV uses thermal and visible imaging to detect vessels, navigation markers and other obstacles in changing environmental conditions, including glare, haze and low visibility.
