NYK has agreed to acquire Fujitsu’s 51% stake in YJK Solutions, making the IT company a wholly owned subsidiary of the Japanese shipping group.
The transaction is scheduled to be completed on 1 October 2026.
YJK develops, operates and maintains IT systems supporting shipping, port and logistics operations, alongside providing IT engineering services.
NYK currently holds the remaining 49% of YJK and plans to explore integrating the company with NYK Business Systems, which is responsible for the group’s IT operations.
The move is intended to centralise and improve the efficiency of NYK’s IT functions, including system development and operational capabilities.
YJK was established in 1981 and is headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo. Its activities include computer system consulting and development, packaged software, network construction and maintenance, and the operation and management of computer systems.
