Marlink and the Nordic Maritime Cyber Resilience Centre (NORMA Cyber) have combined fleet-wide cyber threat monitoring with Marlink’s maritime incident response capabilities, with Höegh Autoliners among the first operators to deploy the service across its fleet.
The service connects NORMA Cyber’s independent security monitoring and initial threat analysis with Marlink’s cyber incident response capabilities, providing a route from detection and assessment through to investigation, containment and remediation.
Security data from onboard Unified Threat Management (UTM) and Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) systems is forwarded in real time to the NORMA Cyber Security Operations Centre. Potential threats are analysed and triaged by NORMA Cyber before incidents requiring action onboard are escalated to Marlink’s cyber specialists.
The arrangement also allows shipowners to retain NORMA Cyber as an independent monitoring provider while using Marlink to manage their onboard connectivity network and respond when incidents are identified.
“Maintaining uninterrupted operations is critical for us. This combined approach strengthens our ability to manage cyber risk effectively across the fleet,” said Christian Hall, Head of Global Cargo Operations and Digital Projects, Höegh Autoliners.
