Antenna manufacturer Intellian has announced its new X150D terminal for use with the SES O3b mPOWER network, following the completion of over-the-air testing with SES at its R&D Centre in South Korea.
Intellian and SES Engineers performed testing of the multi-orbit and multi-band antenna across the O3b system, demonstrating throughput of up to 600 Mbps.
Aimed at cruise and energy operators, the X150D is a 1.5m electronically switchable Ku/Ka-band terminal with a single feed. The new unit joins the existing XEO Series of antennas, with the X130D and X130D PM launched in 2022 providing multi-orbit LEO, MEO, GEO and HEO tracking capabilities.
O3b mPOWER is SES’s second-generation medium earth orbit (MEO) Ka-band satellite system, with commercial availability expected from Q2 2024.
