Helm and Caterpillar in engine data integration deal

Helm Operations and Caterpillar Marine have announced a strategic collaboration to integrate Caterpillar’s engine data with Helm’s CONNECT software, to provide a basis for improved decision making.

The new collaboration will provide operators with access to information such as engine hours and fuel burn directly within the Helm CONNECT platform, which could be used to improve maintenance schedules and fuel efficiency, or in managing compliance with environmental regulations.

Vessel operators wishing to utilise the integrated systems need to have a Helm CONNECT subscription, a Cat Customer Value Agreement (CVA) with a Cat dealer, and assets connected via Cat Product Link.

“This collaboration is a significant advancement for the maritime industry, and we are beyond excited about this new collaboration,” said Paul Cyr, Manager of Partnerships at Helm.

“Customers benefit from the combined strengths of two industry leaders: Caterpillar’s robust digital marine technology and Helm Operations’ innovative Helm CONNECT software. Together, they set a new benchmark for maritime operations, paving the way for a more efficient and data-driven future.”
