BW LPG has partnered with Oceanly to implement new digital vessel performance systems across its fleet, aimed at improving reporting quality and operational efficiency.
The two companies began working on the project in December 2024 and completed the rollout in the first quarter of 2025, introducing Oceanly’s Performance Base system across BW LPG’s owned fleet and the Performance Lite system for chartered vessels.
Performance Lite operates without onboard installation and can be deployed via a web browser in under 30 minutes, supporting quick integration for time-chartered ships. Performance Base, installed on owned vessels, is used for real-time performance monitoring, operational alerts, and analytics from connected onboard workstations.
A customised Parcel Management module was also developed at BW LPG’s request to support more efficient bunker operations and fuel consumption tracking.
“Without doubt the amount of onboard form validation, whether it’s the auto-calculated fields or data field allowable parameters is starting to show a large reduction in re-work, both ashore and afloat,” said Kevin Knott, Senior Manager, Fleet Performance at BW LPG.
“As familiarity with the system grows, I would only expect this to reduce further. In particular, the bunker parcel ID’s, fuel ROB’s, and consumptions are much improved as compared to pre-Oceanly VRT.”
