Seaspan Corporation has completed the deployment of Avikus’ HiNAS Navigation, HiNAS SVM, and HiNAS Cloud systems across 25 container vessels in its fleet.
The project is part of Seaspan’s wider strategy to improve bridge team performance, increase shoreside visibility, and support its decarbonisation objectives.
The AI-powered systems provide real-time situational awareness and decision support on board, while also enabling performance monitoring from shore.

“We are pleased to work with Avikus in delivering scalable digital infrastructure and building the foundation for intelligent fleet performance.”
The Avikus deal is part of a broader AI-powered digitalisation push at Seaspan, with the company having also recently deployed an artificial intelligence-powered navigational situational awareness system from Orca AI on 100 vessels.
Trials of that system prior to the full implementation showed that the technology had helped to achieve a 35% increase in the minimum average distance between vessels in open waters and a 37% reduction in close encounters.
