Unifeeder partners with Portchain to improve berth alignment efficiency

Unifeeder has partnered with Portchain to improve operational efficiency and reduce fuel consumption through the use of Portchain Connect, a digital platform that links carriers directly to its terminal network for real-time berth alignment.

The collaboration follows a successful Proof of Value project in the Americas, Northern Europe and the Mediterranean, which the companies said delivered earlier berth confirmations, reduced waiting times, fuel savings and up to one hour of daily time savings for operations teams.

By digitising the exchange of berth information, Unifeeder gains real-time visibility of terminal plans while terminals receive Unifeeder’s live schedule and move count updates, supporting Just In Time arrivals.

“Through this partnership, our operations teams see benefits such as more reliable arrivals, more time for planning instead of chasing information, and more stable vessel speeds, leading to more efficient operations and measurable fuel savings,” said Christian Jurlander, Head of Global Fleet Optimisation, Unifeeder.

Unifeeder is part of DP World’s Marine Services business unit.
