Coastal Transportation in the US has agreed a deal to deploy Inmarsat Maritime’s NexusWave system across its fleet of refrigerated and general cargo vessels to improve, the companies report.
The Seattle-based shipping company operates services between Washington and ports in Western Alaska and will be provided with a single managed connectivity service using bonded networks to maintain coverage throughout the trading area.
The NexusWave architecture includes segregated networks to support cyber-resilience and is designed to maintain availability of more than 99.9%.
“Upgrading to Inmarsat NexusWave was a natural next step for our cargo fleet,” said Stephanie Grisham, Technical Program Manager, Coastal Transportation.
