Gram Car Carriers (GCC) has agreed a multi-year deal with Orca AI to deploy the company’s AI-based navigational safety and fleet analytics platform across its entire fleet of 22 pure car and truck carriers.
The fleet-wide rollout extends Orca AI’s existing relationship with the MSC Group and forms part of GCC’s broader digital transformation strategy, with a focus on operational safety, transparency and compliance. The agreement is structured as a collaborative partnership, including joint reviews and co-developed improvements.
GCC will deploy Orca AI’s SeaPod digital lookout system onboard vessels, combined with the FleetView analytics platform ashore.
SeaPod uses computer vision and artificial intelligence to detect and track nearby vessels and objects, providing real-time risk alerts to bridge teams in congested or low-visibility conditions. FleetView aggregates data across the fleet to allow shore teams to analyse navigational behaviour, near-miss trends and policy compliance.
The shipping company said the combined bridge-to-shore setup is intended to establish a standardised, data-driven safety model across its operations, with the aim of reducing incidents and improving decision-making through objective performance data.
