Klaipeda Container Terminal digitises berth alignment

Klaipeda Container Terminal reports that it has joined the Portchain Connect network, implementing the platform to simplify and speed up berth alignment with shipping lines through digital data sharing.

Klaipeda Container Terminal will use ‘digital handshakes’ via the network to improve the quality and responsiveness of berth planning with its customers.

The platform enables the terminal to receive real-time schedule and move count updates directly from carrier systems, to align vessel schedules with terminal berth plans.

“Digital collaboration is a key pillar of our long-term strategy,” said Vaidotas Šileika, CEO at Klaipeda Container Terminal.

“By joining Portchain Connect, we are investing in smarter, data-driven berth planning that enhances transparency, supports stronger partnerships with carriers, and creates lasting efficiency gains across our terminal operations.”

Founded over 30 years ago, Klaipeda Container Terminal operates two multipurpose terminals with a combined handling capacity of up to 8.5 million tonnes and serves more than 1,200 vessels per year.
