MOL Shipmate platform migrates to cloud architecture

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) has completed the migration of its Shipmate platform to a Software as a Service (SaaS) architecture, working with technology provider SBNT, through its subsidiary Marino Tech Services (MTS).

The project transitioned the mission-critical platform for MOL into a cloud-based system designed to improve scalability and operational resilience.

The companies noted that the migration involved a large user base and the implementation of a high-availability architecture with a security framework, requiring architectural modernisation and the integration of security and compliance protocols.

Following the go-live, the project moved into a managed stabilisation and intensive support phase to ensure operational continuity for the shipping company.

“This milestone reinforces our commitment to delivering resilient, scalable, and future-ready digital platforms for the maritime industry,” said Sasidharan B Nair, Managing Director at SBNT.

“Large-scale SaaS transformations demand precision, collaboration, and accountability. We are proud of the teams who made this possible.”

With the platform now live, the company is focusing on performance optimisation and long-term stability for the MOL Shipmate system.
