Arianespace has successfully placed 36 satellites into orbit for Amazon Leo using an upgraded Ariane 64 launcher, the largest single launch to date for the new satellite network.
The mission lifted off from Europe’s Spaceport in French Guiana, delivering the payload precisely into Low Earth Orbit (LEO) at an altitude of approximately 465 km.
The flight marks the third consecutive launch for Amazon Leo’s constellation performed with the European heavy-lift launcher this year. The total of 36 satellites on board was four more than on each of the two previous missions.
This latest mission was part of an ongoing series of 18 launches with Arianespace for Amazon’s constellation and brings the total deployment to 100 satellites launched by Arianespace for Amazon Leo in less than five months.
Amazon Leo (formerly Project Kuiper) has now launched a total of 369 satellites, with approximately 367 of them currently operational in orbit.
