Intellian has launched the C100M GMDSS System, an Iridium Certus 100-based terminal designed to provide Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS) communications.
The launch adds to Intellian’s Iridium GMDSS portfolio, with dedicated terminals now available for each Iridium Certus service tier, alongside the existing C200M and C700 systems.
The C100M supports Distress Alert, Safety Voice, Maritime Safety Information (MSI), Ship Security Alert System (SSAS), and Long-Range Identification and Tracking (LRIT). It supports both standard coaxial and NMEA 2000 cabling, allowing vessels to reuse existing GMDSS antenna cabling where suitable.
The bridge-mounted Safety Control Unit integrates all processing functions, removing the need for a separate below deck unit. It includes a 7-inch colour IPS touchscreen providing access to voice communications, MSI, and one-touch distress communications with Rescue Coordination Centres (RCCs) and nearby vessels.

The system also provides an upgrade path for existing standalone C200M and C700 terminals, with most Flag Administrations permitting full SOLAS GMDSS compliance through the addition of a Safety Display Terminal (SDT) and handset.
