5U AI raises $3.2m for AI freight forwarding platform

Munich-based 5U AI has raised US$3.2 million in pre-seed funding to expand its AI platform for freight forwarding operations across Europe.

The funding round was led by London-based Emerge Capital and will be used to support product development and the company’s European go-to-market strategy. The company will also be recruiting across product, engineering, operations, commercial and customer support as it expands its business.

5U AI’s platform uses AI Workers to automate operational processes across air, sea and road freight, including quotation management, bookings, shipment tracking, invoice reconciliation, data entry and routine administration.

The software is designed to operate within existing freight management systems using multiple AI agents trained for logistics workflows. A Context Layer records how each AI Worker reaches a decision, to provide visibility into operational processes and creating a knowledge base for future workflows.

Founded in 2025 by Technical University of Munich graduates Yagiz Abik and Fehmi Şener, 5U AI says its software is already being used by freight forwarders and carriers across Europe.

“Freight forwarding is full of decisions that are still trapped in inboxes, spreadsheets, and people’s heads,” said Yagiz Abik, Chief Executive Officer, 5U AI.

“We are not building another chatbot that answers questions and disappears – we are building AI Workers that understand freight operations, carry out the work, and capture the reasoning behind every decision, so teams can scale their knowledge as well as their capacity.”
