Onboard computer based training provider Seagull Maritime has announced that it has acquired a majority of the shares in fellow Norwegian company Tero Marine, a developer of fleet management software for the shipping industry.
“We are proud that we now have an industry leader (like) Seagull Maritime as our main shareholder. We believe the market knowledge and financial strength of Seagull will help fulfil Tero Marine’s high ambitions, and also create value for our customers and employees,” said Jarle Holmelid, CEO of Tero Marine.
Tero Marine has approximately 55 employees, with offices and representatives in Norway, the UK, Singapore, the USA, Brazil, Japan and Russia. Software development activities are mainly conducted at the company’s head office in Bergen, Norway, supported by a developer team in St. Petersburg, Russia.
“We are very impressed by the company and the solutions developed by Tero Marine and we believe the company has a great future,” said Roger Ringstad, Group CEO of Seagull Maritime AS.
“The management and employees in Tero Marine are doing a great job in serving customers and developing quality products for the maritime industry. There will be no organisational changes and the company will continue as a separate company.”
