Hapag-Lloyd implements Portchain analytics system

Copenhagen-based Portchain, a provider of shipping analytics and AI systems, reports that it has completed the implementation of its fleet planning software for Hapag-Lloyd, which will be used to optimise workflows for voyage control and execution by the container carrier.

Portchain’s predictive algorithms will be applied by Hapag-Lloyd’s Marine Operations teams to assist in earlier identification of potential issues in scheduling, to increase planning horizons, better schedule reliability improvements, and subsequently reduce bunker fuel costs.

“We are strongly committed to further improve schedule reliability for our customers. To do this we are always looking for better and pioneering tools that enable us to improve our voyage control,” said Jörn Springer, Senior Director, Fleet Support Centre at Hapag-Lloyd.

“Portchain’s Cloud-based solution provides powerful insights into the robustness of schedules and allows us to quickly make changes in real time. We look forward to creating additional value from this partnership for our customers.”
