Wärtsilä opens remote support facility in Singapore

Wärtsilä has opened its latest Expertise Centre (EC) in Singapore, based within the company’s existing Acceleration Centre facilities, to provide remote support for vessel machinery installations.

The new EC will offer services including operational support and dynamic maintenance planning for customers with Wärtsilä Lifecycle Solution agreements.

The company’s Expertise Centre network of nine global facilities currently monitors some 900 installations with more than 2,000 engines around the world, Wärtsilä says, providing advice and recommendations based on the analysis of data monitoring the condition and performance of the specified machinery.

“Our aim is always to serve the customer better. We do this by using the latest technology and proven methods to increase the asset’s reliability and availability, while at the same time reducing the need for unplanned maintenance,” said Erik Ristiluoma, Director, Contract Management, Wärtsilä Marine.

“The customer can rely on Wärtsilä ensuring that operational performance is maintained at the right level, and the new Singapore EC emphasises our commitment to long-term partnerships with our customers.”
