ABS Nautical Systems (ABS NS), the fleet management software arm of the classification society, has agreed a deal to work with tanker information management platform Q88, to jointly offer tools for automation of compliance management for ship owners and operators.
The two companies’ software systems have been integrated under the agreement, to allow their respective customers to improve their management of compliance information shared between ship to shore, strengthening areas like data quality and reliability.
Integration of Q88’s Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF) vetting platform with the ABS NS compliance management system will create an automated process flow for required critical data, such as certificates, vessel particulars and qualification documents, removing the potential for manual data entry errors and reducing the burden on crew members.
“We’re excited to partner with Q88 to help our mutual customers streamline the OCIMF vetting compliance process,” said Stephen Schwarz, President of ABS Nautical Systems.
“By leveraging the digital technologies of both of our companies, customers will realise the benefits of improved data quality and efficient data transfer, improving the speed and reliability of critical compliance data. We are focused on solutions that improve efficiencies for our clients. This represents another key step on the journey toward digitally transforming maritime operations.”
