NAVESCO to implement SERTICA

Colombian bulk carrier company NAVESCO has agreed a deal with Logimatic to implement the SERTICA fleet management software system to assist in management of vessel operations.

NAVESCO will integrate the new application package with its existing ERP system to digitalise maintenance and procurement flows for its fleet of 15 multi-purpose and shallow-draft vessels, which currently handle more than 1.5 Million tons of cargo per year.

“We plan to digitalise our internal work flows completely to make our processes more manageable and efficient, and we have been told by a fellow shipping company here in the region that SERTICA is up for this task,” explains Guillermo Solano, General Manager at NAVESCO.

Danish software company Logmiatic launched the fleet management system in 1991, and it is now installed on some 1400 ships worldwide to manage maintenance, procurement and HSQE activities. The company opened an office in Chile in 2013 to support local regional customers, which will now include NAVESCO.

“This year I have been involved in the implementation of SERTICA at three shipping companies in Latin America and I am also responsible for the local support in Spanish. Despite it having been a year with great challenges in the region and the rest of the world, we have managed to grow, and we continue towards becoming the leading provider of fleet management systems in LATAM,” said Pablo Grez, Regional Manager, Chile, for Logimatic.
