DOF to roll out emissions reduction software on all ships

Norwegian ship owner DOF has agreed a deal with software company Yxney to roll out the Maress cloud-based system to its entire fleet of more than 60 vessels, to be used to assist the company in data-driven emissions reduction.

DOF had already completed a roll-out of Maress on 30 of its vessels and will now extend its use to the rest of the company’s ships after evaluating the software package over the course of a year in operation.

The Maress analytics system is used to support shore and bridge teams in making more informed decisions on how to reduce vessel emissions. The software can be integrated with existing shipboard technology for data gathering, to provide transparency and allow for direct comparisons across the fleet.

As it will be linked with existing data sources Yxney says that the system can be rolled out quickly and is expected be operational on the whole fleet in Q1 of 2021.

“We are pleased to see our cooperation with Yxney grow and we are looking forward to be a part of further user adjustments of their Maress software program to the best, for our fleet and the maritime industry as a whole,” said DOF Senior PM Energy Management, Lars Christian Larsen.

“We are convinced that the transition towards zero emissions goes through cooperation and multiple efforts.”
