Tanger moves to new terminal operating system

EUROGATE Tanger S.A. container terminal in Morocco has agreed a deal with Korean maritime and logistics technology company CyberLogitec to implement its OPUS Terminal software system.

The new software will be introduced in order to handle the growing container throughput in the Tanger terminal, to maximise terminal productivity and improve efficiency in operations.

The application also provides a centralised IoT platform, allowing real-time data from equipment to be collected, processed, and used to create a Digital Twin of the terminal.

The Tanger terminal and Algeciras Terminal in Spain, which share CMA CGM as a mutual investor, will both operate on the OPUS Terminal system, providing greater standardisation on a key passage between Africa and Europe.

“This agreement with Tanger is the evidence that the working area of CyberLogitec has been expanded to worldwide,” said Young Kyu Song, CEO of CyberLogitec.

“CyberLogitec plans to implement a successful terminal operating system for Tanger, and with CyberLogitec the constant business cooperation with CMA CGM will be continued.”
