KVH adds Indian services to VSAT coverage map

KVH has announced the launch of satellite connectivity services that will permit international vessels to use its VSAT systems while operating in Indian territorial waters, while also allowing the company to supply services to Indian flagged vessels.

The news comes shortly after Intelsat announced that its FlexMaritime service had been granted regulatory clearance to operate in India, with KVH already a FlexMaritime customer. Station Satcom Private Ltd, KVH’s existing service provider based in Mumbai, will act as its distribution launch partner in India.

“Indian waters are extremely important areas for the global shipping trade and KVH is thrilled to offer our end-to-end maritime satellite communications solutions to vessels traveling there,” said Brent Bruun, KVH Chief Operating Officer.

“With our satellite partner Intelsat and our distribution partner Station Satcom, KVH is proud to play a leading role in the digitalisation efforts ongoing throughout the maritime industry.”
