Voyage Event API introduced by Awake.ai

Finland-based maritime tech start-up Awake.ai reports that it has introduced a new Voyage Event API for its range of smart port applications, a cloud service providing automated messages when vessels enter or exit user-defined areas.

The service provides actual time event information and notifies users of vessel arrival times to various areas during port calls, to offer an objective record for historical logs or billing purposes.

Customisable geofencing of specific areas is possible based on the desired advance visibility, for example to notify of a vessel’s arrival at a VTS zone, pilot boarding place, or port area.

In addition, the information can also be used by relevant external stakeholders to prepare for the arrival of vessels of interest in advance without the need for continuous manual monitoring, or to monitor traffic in hazardous areas.

The service is accessible through a WebSocket-based API, with customer account-specific buffering available to ensure that all data can be retrieved even if the system is temporarily disconnected.
