Shipping quartet go live on OTG crewing software in one weekend

Ocean Technologies Group has completed a quartet of ‘go live’ successes on its Compas crew management system, with Torm, Northern Marine Group, Maersk and the Knutsen Group all completing their respective implementations of the software in a single weekend.

Compas supports maritime HR functions by leveraging real-time data to connect vessels with HR teams ashore and support data-driven crewing decisions. Fleet information is presented in a single interface, enabling staff to see their complete crewing picture and to dynamically adapt plans to cover any issues that arise.

A Compas mobile app and web portal is also available for the companies’ seafarers, providing access to their contract information, training requirements, and other HR-related information.

“The transition from our old crewing system to Compas has, after a comprehensive testing and configuration period, been a success,” said Allan Dan Jensen, VP, Head of Marine HR, Torm.

“We can already now see the great advantages and synergies having a modern system originated out of the optimal crew planning as the core functionality.”
