BSM to link whole fleet to digital payments system

Ship management firm Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (BSM) has expanded its agreement with digital payments platform ShipMoney to include its entire global fleet, to digitalise all of its payment processes for crew wages and CTM (cash to master) transactions.

Crew members across the world can be paid instantly with a single file upload or through processes within BSM’s own crewing/payroll system via an API integration.

The deal will also offer greater freedom and flexibility to the crews themselves to manage their wages using ShipMoney’s online services.

“The reason for the deepened cooperation with ShipMoney is their deep understanding and vast experience with implementing and managing crew payment programmes, their excellent client management and training teams and their seamless integration with our own crewing software,” said Dennis Moehlmann, / Project Manager for BSM.

“But above all, ShipMoney now offers our seafarers from all nations the opportunity to receive wages digitally and to have complete control and access to their wages while onboard ship. The implemented payment process reduces the need for large amounts of cash to be delivered onboard and to administer individual crew wire payments sent to home bank accounts.”
