Clarksons’ spin-off Sea/ has announced the acquisition of Setapp, a technology company based in Poznan, Poland, employing approximately 50 people.
Setapp provides various technology development services across multiple industries, with a client list that includes maritime-focused organisations like Deutsche Binnenreederei and ZeroNorth.
Setapp will continue to provide services to third parties following the acquisition, whose projects will be ring-fenced from any other work being executed. Sea/ says it will seek to leverage the two firms’ combined customer access to create a ‘centre of maritime technology excellence’ to serve those in the industry seeking technology teams for their projects.
Sea/ is a SaaS platform providing an intelligent marketplace for freight fixing. The software offers a range of tools for charterers, brokers, and ship owners, and is used for an annualised 34,000 fixtures across a range of markets.
Setapp will be owned by Maritech, the legal entity that owns Sea/, following the acquisition.
