MarPoint launches global maritime IT support service

Greece-based MarPoint has announced the launch of its new M.I.T.S. (Maritime IT Onboard Services) offering, a global network of IT engineers approved by MarPoint to provide IT services onboard ships.

The service covers some 60 countries and more than 150 ports, with the company planning to continually add further service stations over time.

“Our new service features high-quality IT services via our network of approved maritime partners, ready to fulfil your scheduled or emergency needs in major international ports globally,” the company said.

“With our global network, we aim to avoid the complexity of port and travel restrictions and save costs from your IT engineers traveling to distant locations. Our services include IT infrastructure inspection, IT maintenance, recovery services, software installation and patching, and cable checks and repairs.”

MarPoint currently serves approximately 3,000 vessels with communication, IT and network services, with offerings including hardware and network infrastructure delivery, asset management, cybersecurity, crew welfare, cloud computing, and nearshore connectivity.
