Torvald Klaveness and Lauritzen Bulkers to collaborate on development of market software

Dry bulk shipping companies Torvald Klaveness and Lauritzen Bulkers have announced plans to work together on the development to the Market Manager software system created by Klaveness, with Lauritzen Bulkers to undertake testing of the technology.

“Over the past four years, Lauritzen Bulkers has transformed from a traditional ship owner and operator to a company with increasing focus on active portfolio management. We strive to refine our knowledge-based business model and data driven approach,” said Niels Josefsen, CEO at Lauritzen.

A Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform crafted by Klaveness Chartering, the platform is used to support commercial decision making by shipowners and charterers.

The software is also backed by insights from Klaveness Chartering’s own in-house bunker team, to add human expertise to data analytics.

“We continue to challenge the status quo for better outcomes and if we can assist like-minded operators in achieving the same efficiencies, it is only natural we share it,” said Michael Jørgensen, EVP and Head of Dry Bulk at Klaveness.

“Collaborating with Lauritzen and learning from their feedback will be a welcome inclusion to our development process.”
