Sibelco implements emissions tracking system

Industrial materials company Sibelco has agreed a new partnership with Klaveness Digital to integrate CargoValue emissions tracking capabilities into its supply chain management processes.

The system will be used to support Sibelco in achieving improved environmental sustainability and operational efficiency in its maritime logistics, providing a full overview of its shipping emissions.

“We recognise the importance of sustainable operations in today’s world. The joint effort with Klaveness Digital is a stride towards our commitment to environmental stewardship,” said Sustainability CoE Climate Change Expert at Sibelco, Simone Ghio.

“The insights provided by CargoValue will be instrumental in enhancing a more sustainable supply chain and better decisions in alignment with our global sustainability objectives.”

CargoValue will be used to track and analyse greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from maritime transportation activities, a part of Sibelco’s Scope 3 emissions profile. This data will then be used to identify areas for emissions reduction.

“We are thrilled to partner with Sibelco, a company that shares our vision of a more sustainable and efficient maritime industry,” said Aleksander Stensby, CEO of Klaveness Digital.

“CargoValue is positioned to support Sibelco in achieving their environmental goals, offering insights into emissions data and helping drive informed decision-making.”
