Viasat integrates video streaming tech into AI platform

Viasat has announced an agreement to integrate video streaming technology from Videosoft into its INTELIE operational AI platform.

The agreement means Viasat will be able to provide Videosoft’s live-streaming capabilities via INTELIE to increase situational awareness for businesses, helping them to respond to events in real-time through the use of AI-driven monitoring and analytics.

Videosoft’s technology uses adaptive video compression and transmission to deliver streaming over satellite communications, requiring as little as 4 kbps. The company is already a member of Viasat’s ELEVATE programme, the satellite operator’s IoT marketplace.

“We are excited to be working with Videosoft on such a cutting-edge solution offering,” said Simon Hawkins, Vice President, Enterprise Commercial and Innovation at Viasat.

“This partnership is a clear example of how Viasat ELEVATE can bring innovation and new business development opportunities to our partner network. By combining Videosoft’s live video technology and our expertise in satellite communications, we believe that we can help businesses operate more efficiently – both in terms of cost and operational control.”
