Danelec has unveiled a new simulation tool designed to improve collaborative working processes between commercial and operations teams working with LNG carriers and identify areas for potential optimisation.
The cloud-based platform aims to assist users in balancing the diverse factors involved in fulfilling charter party requirements, meeting cargo temperature and pressure requirements at discharge, and optimising voyage planning amidst variable weather conditions and route complexities.
This is done through the application of precise simulations and real-time performance monitoring, with the system offering access to high-fidelity digital twins of specific vessels and cargoes with analytics highlighting the trade-offs between different voyage plans and operational decisions, both pre-voyage and mid-voyage.
Expected vessel performance can be simulated and optimised operational setpoints provided, encompassing route waypoints, cargo composition, vessel loading, and forecasted weather. Continuous mid-voyage adjustments can be made to deal with changing conditions in real-time and ensure optimal reliquefaction and subcooling rates, engine modes, shaft speed, and GCU use.
