Kaiko Systems has partnered with RISK4SEA to launch a new digital tool for Port State Control (PSC) preparation, combining Kaiko’s technology with RISK4SEA’s PSC risk database.
The platform aims to improve inspection readiness by providing tailored checklists based on each vessel’s risk profile. Checklists are customised according to the vessel’s type, detention history, company record, and MoU campaigns, avoiding generic questions.
According to the companies, the tool offers more than 90% accuracy in predicting potential detention risks, allowing crew to take proactive measures before arriving at port.
“For the first time, crew and shore teams will be able to easily pre-plan in a collaborative fashion before the ship enters the port to ensure the correct checks are made and avoid lengthy inspections by PSCOs,” said Fabian Fussek, Co-Founder and CEO of Kaiko Systems.

The system integrates with AIS to monitor the vessel’s next port of call, automatically triggering RISK4SEA’s data assessment and generating a tailored PSC checklist. Kaiko Systems then notifies the crew via its mobile app, allowing them to complete the checklist offline if needed and submit findings directly to shore teams for review.
Shore-based teams can monitor the fleet’s preparation status via a centralised dashboard, with high-risk items prioritised in the checklist to focus on critical inspection areas, with findings summarised and tracked in real time.
