Wallem partners with OceanScore for emissions compliance management

Wallem Group has agreed a deal with OceanScore to support the commercial management of emissions compliance across its managed fleet.

The partnership focuses on the European Union Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) and the FuelEU Maritime regulation, including access to the FuelEU Pooling Marketplace for vessels sailing to the European Union (EU).

“Managing EU ETS and FuelEU Maritime across a diverse fleet requires clear workflows and dependable data,” said Maren Moxom, Group Chief Financial Officer at Wallem.

“OceanScore provides the structure we need to manage these obligations efficiently and transparently on behalf of our clients.”

The Compliance Manager platform that will be implemented can be used by third-party ship management companies in handling cost allocation, statements, invoicing, and pooling preparation across diverse fleets.

“Third-party managers sit at the centre of compliance execution,” said Albrecht Grell, Managing Director of OceanScore.

“They need systems that work reliably across vessels, owners and charterers. Wallem’s decision underlines the growing importance of structured compliance workflows in ship management.”

OceanScore currently supports more than 100 customers and over 2,500 vessels globally. The company recently reached US$5 million in annual recurring revenue and was appointed by the International Association of Ports and Harbours (IAPH) as the administrator of the Environmental Ship Index (ESI).
